Version 3.0.3
August 19, 2026Latest- Design ChangeCylindrical cells now grow in height to accommodate electrolyte and volume expansion, matching the excel spreadsheet (pro). When electrolyte and expansion volume exceed the space available, the cell height increases now instead of the previous reduction in winding turns. Anticipate changes to cylindrical cell designs with high volume expansion.
- UIThe cylindrical cell design section now shows an editable jelly roll height and a final cell height, and warns when a design has grown beyond its standard height.
Version 3.0.2
August 19, 2026- UIElectrode design diagram improved for clarity. Volume expansion and electrolyte fill factors are now visually apparent and electrode density is reported in the diagram.
Version 3.0.1
August 13, 2026- MaterialsThe maximum theoretical capacity of silicon is now based on Li₁₅Si₄ (3,579 mAh/g) rather than Li₂₂Si₅ (4,211 mAh/g). Li₁₅Si₄ is the phase that forms at room temperature; the previous value corresponded to the high-temperature phase. This raises the calculated degree of lithiation for a given design capacity.
- Design ChangeSilicon oxide volume change no longer includes the Li₂O formed on first lithiation. The conversion to Li₂O is irreversible, so it contributes to the electrode’s baseline volume but not to the reversible expansion on cycling.
Studio release notes begin at version 3.0.1. Studio versions the underlying model: for changes at 3.0 and earlier, see the Open & Pro changelog.
